A Southern-delicacy, Mayhaw jelly is beloved with those with true Southern origins and roots.  The Mayhaw is a tart, small, apple-like fruit that grows on a thorny Hawthorn tree. It looks like mini red-yellow apples. It's too tart to eat off the tree.  In the Old Days, Mayhaws were used medicinally to make a tea to treat high blood pressure.
